As long as you are in the work force, you are allowed to by-pass medicare and your private insurance is all you need.
Some of my fellow Americans may not know this, but when you turn 65, if you are disabled or retired, you are forced to take Medicare or go uninsured. It is against the law for Physicians to take your private insurance alone. Medicare is the gate-keeper, your private insurance is ancillary. This means that if Medicare denies a claim, your private insurer denies the claim. Great catch 22 isn't it? We haven't been free for a long time.
